When a male painter visits a ballet class to paint the female dancers, the young women’s perspective shifts. With new self-awareness, they begin to see themselves through his eyes.

Inspired by Degas’ paintings of dancers, Still Life With Toe Shoes tells its story through an innovative blend of music, dance and dialogue.

Still Life With Toe Shoes had a workshop with Old Deerfield Productions in Deerfield, MA, 2008, culminating in three sold-out performances.

It was subsequently produced at Emerson College.
